Dear valued clients,
In an effort to comply with the most recent recommendations for small businesses mandated by Governor Cooper, and in response to the increasing number of Covid 19 cases in our area, we will be going back to curbside service only beginning this Monday, November 30th. For those of you who were with us during our initial response to Covid and our previous curbside service protocol, this will be exactly the same. For those of you who are new to HBAH, we have outlined some simple rules to follow when bringing your pet to us. We want to extend an extra special thanks in advance to all of our clientele for your continued patience. We feel we have the process well in hand at this time, and hope that you know that we will do everything in our power to ensure you and your pet have a pleasurable experience.
-We will continue to offer all services including examinations, vaccinations, surgeries/dentistry, wellness care, sick patient/critical care, boarding and bathing.
-Our building and lobby will be closed to all clients for all services. Only our staff and your pets will be allowed inside. (Please note, just as before, an exception will be made for euthanasias and you will be absolutely be allowed to be with your pet during that time).
-For your convenience, you have the option of either scheduling an appointment time and waiting in your car while we treat your pet, or you can drop your pet off and go run some errands and we will call when they are ready.
-Once you arrive in our parking lot, please pull in a spot and make a note of the number on the permanent metal sign that is at the front of the space. This sign also has our contact phone number on it. (So there’s no need to try to remember our number–it will be right there for you). Give us a call to let us know you are here.
-Make sure your pet is secure on a leash or in a pet carrier and simply call us to let us know you have arrived. Please note: NO PETS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNLESS ON A LEASH OR IN A CARRIER. Please make sure your pet’s collar is tight! Dog’s love to back out of their collars at the most inconvenient of times. Also, our staff has been advised that they are not allowed to enter an owner’s vehicle to retrieve a pet, so please do not ask them to do that. Instead, once your technician has announced they are coming to retrieve your pet, please exit your vehicle with your pet and get them ready to transfer to our staff by attaching the leash or placing their carrier on the ground outside of the vehicle.
-When you call, one of our team members will get on the phone to discuss the reason for your visit and go over the recommended procedures for your pet with you. At this time, let the technician know of any concerns you may have. This technician will then meet you at your car and take your pet from you to bring them in for evaluation.
-After the medical team evaluates your pet, the veterinarian will call you to discuss your pet’s examination and make any additional recommendations. Once your pet’s care is complete, the technician will return your pet to you and you will be checked out over the phone by one of our customer service representatives. It’s that easy!
Please also remember that you can have all your pet’s needs sent directly to you with free shipping on prescription refills, medications, flea and tick preventatives, food, pet care supplies and other items through our online store. Access our online store easily by going to our website and selecting the “ONLINE STORE” button on the upper right hand side of the home page. Of course, you can also get your prescriptions from the office as usual. We will simply check you out over the phone, and run those items out to your car once you arrive.
As always, we are committed to providing exceptional care for your pet and if any further changes are warranted, we will be sure to reach out to you via email. If you have any questions at all regarding this new policy, please give us a call. Thank you for your continued support, and we hope everyone has a happy, safe and healthy holiday season!
Sincerely,
Dr. Shaylene Snyder, owner.
